We brew Golden Lions using the traditional method using barley malt, water from our own deep wells and selected hops (including IUNGA). Beer with an amber color and a rich bouquet of aromas. In taste, bitter and malty notes come to the fore. This classic style has been enjoying constant popularity for years. Our goal was to create a perfect Gdańsk lager.
The most popular type of bottom-fermented beer in the world in the traditional Gdańsk version. The history of the lager goes back to the Middle Ages. It is a bottom fermented beer aged at low temperatures. In German, the word “Lagerung” means aging. In the Middle Ages, beer was “laged” in cool places, such as in caves. In the nineteenth century, that is, before the appearance of appropriate refrigerators, German brewers dug cellars specially for the aging of beer. They filled it with ice from nearby lakes and rivers, which allowed the beer to cool in summer (also because for a long time brewing in summer was prohibited in most of the country). The spread of lager is closely related to the development of refrigeration. As a result, it could be brewed all year round in more places.
We have been brewing Golden Lions since 2007. The beer is made using the traditional brewing method. In the brewing process, we use only the highest quality barley malt, selected hops (including IUNGA) and water from our own deep wells.
Perfect as an addition to fried meat and cheese. It goes well with nuts and dried fruit.
Serve in a glass at 8-10°C.
